The holiday season is here and what better way to celebrate than making delicious, freshly baked Christmas cookies?

One of the best Christmas desserts are crinkle cookies. They have a crackled look on the outside and a soft, fudgy texture on the inside. The cookies are made with chocolate and powdered sugar, giving them a sweet and rich flavor.

Crinkle cookies are perfect to share with friends and family or to keep for yourself being they are that good.

“I would rate it a 10/10 because it’s a very good cookie,” said Xiodali Solis (10). “I love the powdered sugar and soft consistency; I could eat a million of these with milk."

Here is how to make crinkle cookies.

Ingredients:

½ cup cocoa powder (unsweetened)

1 cup granulated sugar

¼ cup vegetable oil, other options (canola or light olive oil)

2 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

¼ teaspoon salt

½ cup confectioner sugar

In a large bowl, combine cocoa powder, granulated sugar, oil, eggs, and vanilla extract and whisk until fully combined and smooth. Then set it aside.

In a medium bowl, combine flour, baking powder and salt, mix well.

Then, add the dry ingredients in the large bowl and mix until fully combined; next cover the bowl and refrigerate for two hours or overnight.

Once chilled, set the oven to 350 degrees. Roll dough into one-inch balls and roll them in confectioner sugar. Then set on a cookie sheet about two inches apart and bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are firm and the center is puffed up.

Once baked, take them out of the oven and let cool for about five minutes. Then move them to a wired rack to completely cool.

Once cooled, enjoy a delicious cookie by itself, with some milk or whatever your heart desires.
