Leavenworth’s J5 Coffee is a favorite for both locals and tourists, attracting many customers daily. The town has two J5 locations: a stand at 848 US Highway 2 and a shop at 215 9th Street. Both locations are convenient and easy to find, and their website provides information on the menu, purchasing coffee grounds, and daily hours.

From the moment you step inside the shop, it feels warm and inviting. The space has a farmhouse style with wood shelving and plants throughout. Beyond the drinks, there is a wide selection of items to browse while waiting, including unique mugs, coffee grounds, notebooks, t-shirts, honey, small chocolate bars, and a fridge stocked with energy drinks and sodas.

J5 Coffee offers a large menu with drinks for every occasion.

“One of the things I enjoy most about working at J5,” said J5 employee Jen Steinhauer, “is getting to meet people. I have met a lot of people over the past six years from across our town, our state, the country, the world, sharing in conversation with them, and serving them a delicious cup of J5 coffee.”

The staff were welcoming, friendly, and always smiling, even on an exceptionally busy day.

I ordered two drinks: a caramel latte and a chocolate chai tea. Although I usually prefer cold drinks, both exceeded my expectations even when served warm.

I particularly enjoyed the sea salt caramel latte. The flavor was well-balanced, with a coffee taste blended with creamy milk, and a hint of caramel added subtle sweetness. A 12-ounce drink cost $5.46.

The chocolate chai tea had a perfect blend of chai and chocolate. The foam added a pleasant texture, and the intricate latte art made it visually appealing. J5 consistently puts the perfect amount of chocolate in their drinks, unlike some coffee shops where it can taste too spicy. The 16-ounce drink cost $5.45.

“J5 is a really welcoming place. The staff are all super nice and the drinks taste really good,” said Landon Smith (9).
