Morp was held on January 31 at the Leavenworth Adventure Park. The dance was Western-themed. There were unlimited rides on the alpine slide from 7–8 p.m., followed by the dance from 7–9 p.m. The freshman and sophomore classes collaborated to make the Morp dance happen. Morp is the winter dance, and it is a dance where girls traditionally ask guys.

“The coaster was really fun,” said Samantha Crossley (11).

Many students enjoyed the alpine coaster and appreciated the free rides until 8 p.m. Usually, tickets for one coaster ride cost $20 for an adult, $17 for a youth, and $5 for a child. “The best part was definitely the unlimited rides on the roller coaster because it was fun and really expensive otherwise,” said Peter Roe (10).

“I liked the music during Morp because the playlist was really good,” said Mylee Hobbs (12).

The music was a hit as well after the coaster closed. The dance floor was filled with students dancing and singing along to the playlist. “I liked the music during Morp because the playlist was really good,” said Mylee Hobbs (12).

Amelia Morgan (9), the freshman class ASB president, helped a lot with organizing the dance. “We met with the sophomore officers weekly to go over budgeting and setup,” said Morgan.

The dance raised a total of $640, with $320 allocated to the freshman class and $320 to the sophomore class. The funds can be used for any extracurricular activity involving the entire grade. Typically, the money goes toward paying for the senior trip and graduation expenses.

Ms. St-Onge, who teaches Graphic Design, Digital Photography and Film, and 3D Sculpture at CHS, also helped with the dance. “They also had expenses to cover for decorations, the venue, and cookies. The money goes into the ASB account for each grade,” said St-Onge.

Many students participated in the theme by wearing Western-themed dresses, boots, flannels, and accessories. Ella Henscheid (9) embraced the theme with a fully Western outfit. “I wore my Western outfit because I wanted to be comfy and cute,” said Henscheid.

Lilian Renner-Singer (10) helped set up the dance for Leadership.

“My favorite part was the roller coaster because I enjoyed riding with friends and laughing,” said Desmond Sharpe (9).

Many students enjoyed the coaster, especially riding it with friends and laughing together. “My favorite part was the roller coaster because I enjoyed riding with friends and laughing,” said Desmond Sharpe (9).
