Bear Bear

Bear bear’s sign stands out, hanging over the sidewalk on Commercial Street.

Bear Bear is one of the newest additions to the restaurant scene in Leavenworth. Bear Bear is a breakfast and lunch dining spot. This restaurant is located on Commercial Street, and is open Friday through Monday, 8:00 to 3:00 PM. Bear Bear has a lot of outdoor seating with great views of Sleeping Lady Mountain. However, they have very limited indoor seating.

"“My first impression of Bear Bear was it was a good location and had a good atmosphere,” said Jewel LeRoy (10).

When I arrived at the restaurant, on a Saturday around 1:00, there were very few people there. They had many open tables and the tables that were full had smaller parties.

My first impression of the restaurant was that the customer service was very understanding and kind. After picking a table and going back inside to order, the food came quickly, and it was brought to the table.

The “food was good, however it was a little overpriced for a high school student. It would not be my first choice of restaurant,” said LeRoy. Upon going to the restaurant, Jewel Leroy ordered the biscuits and gravy. Jewel received two biscuits and gravy; the total cost was $18.00 with tax. “The biscuits were OK however; I prefer the biscuits from Argonauts Biscuits and Coffee.”

The presentation of the food was pleasing to the eye, for each plate, you got a lot of food. Some pros are they have a really good location. Their customer service is excellent, and the wait time is very short. Some cons are it's a little pricey for a high school student and their hours aren't very flexible for a school and work schedule.

My personal experience was the atmosphere was good and customer service was very kind. The food was pretty good and I enjoyed it. However, trying to fit a meal at this restaurant into a schedule with homework and school made it difficult due to their hours. The average high school student is also likely to find their prices a little out of budget.
