Bullet Train, a comedy thriller starring Brad Pitt as Ladybug, an unlucky assassin determined to do his job peacefully after too many past assignments had gone off the rails. The general plot of the film finds Ladybug arriving in Japan, boarding a bullet train and trying to collect a single brief case with a special cargo, but he is met with lethal adversaries from around the world who all have the same objective.
The film uses great comedic elements and will surely make viewers giggle. It features an all-star cast line up, including well-known names like Bad Bunny and Ryan Reynolds. There are great cinematic action scenes that make viewers think about how it was filmed. The director dives deep into the psychological aspects of the main and side characters. The plot is very unpredictable, every time I tried to predict what is going to happen the exact opposite occurred.
One more great thing is the director, David Leitch. Leitchhas worked on great action films and knows how to perfect movie combat. Leitch started his directorial career off with John Wick, critically acclaimed to be one of the best action movies ever. Also, the brilliant writing is the handy work of Zak Olkewic, known for films like Fear Street Part Two and The Last Voyage of Demeter. Bullet Train was also based on an award-winning Japanese novel by Maria Beetle. Having great writing and a director who knows his actions, makes Bullet Train a must watch.
Despite the many enjoyable aspects of this film, there are some cons. This movie has an extremely long run time of 126 minutes with some action scenes being used to fill up the lengthy time. There are new characters being introduced often and this causes the movie to can get confusing. It has a severe amount of gore – I would not recommend this for anyone under 13 years of age. The story is hard to follow.
The average viewer will leave this movie feeling mesmerized. The action was integrated well into the storyline and the twists and turns are sure to leave viewers on the edge of their seats. “I liked Bullet Train. It was very interesting. There was a lot of violence, but not too much. However, it was still tolerable. I also enjoyed the comedy; it made me laugh multiple times,” said Paulina Viteka (10). Even if the Rotten Tomatoes score is bad, it is ultimately about each viewer’s experience and how the movie makes them feel.
For young adults and enjoyers of action, Bullet Train is certainly worth the money to see. The cinematography, comedy and great acting makes this film a spectacle for any classic movie enjoyer or critic. Have you seen Bullet Train? What are your thoughts? Let us know in the comments below.
