Cowboy Boots and Daisy Dukes

This January on Saturday the 27th, Cascade High School will be having a winter dance with a “Cowboy boots and Daisy Dukes” theme at the Leavenworth Golf Course. The dance is scheduled from 9pm to 11pm and in addition to a dance floor will feature cowboy themed mocktails and food.  The organizers have also planned some card games and even a tattoo – temporary of course- parlor. The freshman and sophomore class ASB officers have been focused on planning dance for over three months. They believed it was important that CHS put a dance together in celebration of the end of one semester and the start of another.  This event will allow students to have time to take their minds off school for a fun activity. Since the last dance was homecoming in early September, it has been several months of straight athletic and academic grind with finals, basketball and wrestling without an event happening for students to enjoy. The long deprivation of social energy for the students has made many excited for a dance this winter.

The winter pep assembly was the first preview of the dance by showing the crowning of the dance royalty. For the freshman: Grant Burrhill, Ingrid Stockman, Elliot Teagal, and Amaya Blue. The sophomores: Mylee Hobbs, Connor Karol, Ayla Pate, and Max Spiegel. The juniors: Ethan Flansburg, Savanna Rowles, Sofia Oropeza, and Christopher Cacho. Finally, the seniors: Karsten Bowles, Ellie Holm, and Dylan Munly. All of royalty was crowned in the winter sports pep assembly where they showed off their lassoing skills and line dancing skills.

Things to look forward to this winter dance is the country theme and more. “There is going to be a lot of country songs, so I feel like there is going to be line dancing, there might be some of that,” said Mylee Hobbs (10). “There will be food,” said Hobbs. Like the homecoming dance, it will be energetic and very exciting.

It is time to start getting your cowboy boots on, hats on, and your line dancing straight before the upcoming Cowboy Boots and Daisy Dukes Dance. Tickets are going for $15, the final date to purchase at this price is January 26 during lunch, and $20 at the door. Yee-Haw.
