Do you ever wonder how it feels to be evil but good at the same time? Despicable Me 4 is a great movie that tells you about that. It shows and tells you about how family will always come first no matter what the situation is and no matter if you're good or bad.

The movie this year contains many characters and had many comedic moments which was really captivating.

“I honestly really liked the movie, the character development, like the red-haired little girl,” said Castaneda (11)

“I honestly really liked the movie, the character development, like the red-haired little girl,” said Castaneda (11) . There was great character development throughout the whole movie. The red-haired little girl named Poppy is a new character that is neighbors with Gru during the movie and at the beginning their relationship was not the best . Poppy and Gru had big character development during the whole movie. At first Poppy would threaten Gru and she would do it, because she knew his secret about being a villain. Once they started to work together and go on a mission, they became closer to one another and started to trust each other with more obvious kindness and gentleness. After that mission together that really helped their relationship, and Poppy would help Gru with taking care of the kids when he needed help with anything. Gru would do the same for her.  Gru is the main character of the movie and has been for the past four Despicable Me movies and he has also developed all throughout all four movies .

One thing that was disappointing about this movie was the plot: the plot was rushed and it was just about Gru’s family going to witness protection. Same with the villains, this year's villains were not as entertaining as the past villains.  There was only one villain and that was Maxin. His entire purpose was to get back at Gru for taking his spotlight. The rushed feeling I got from it and having it go from one point to the next made the plot feel hectic and not as fun to watch as the past movies.

However, Despicable Me 4 is an entertaining movie. Although the movie was rushed and hectic it was still a good movie.  One of my favorite parts was, of course, the minions, they never disappoint. I can always count on the minions to be fun, silly and give me a good laugh. Overall, the movie's message was that family should always come first, no matter what. Sticking together as a family will be what gets you through those tough situations. The message was really enjoyable.
