Around the time of December is when people go to Mexico to visit family and spend the holidays with their loved ones. December in Mexico is very different from December in Leavenworth.
Every December at least two or three of Cascade students go to Mexico. When they go, they usually go for about two to three weeks or more. These students won’t relax at a swanky resort; instead, they will see family they haven’t seen in a while and enjoy the holidays with the people they love and cherish. Going to Mexico can often help to relieve all the stress you have and forget about what is going on back home.
“We usually go for maybe a month or a couple of weeks, why we go to Mexico sometimes we have like a family event to go to or we just go visit family,” said Vanessa Ibarra (10).
When we first arrived in Mexico the weather changed and our mood did too.
The sun was out when we got there. Combine that with hugging our loved ones, it made me feel happy and at peace.
The sun was out when we got there. Combine that with hugging our loved ones, it made me feel happy and at peace. Once we found a taxi to take us home, it's just sit back and relax and wait till we get to our destination. It’s also nice to stop and eat when we get there, because the food in Mexico is delicious. Getting to our pueblo is a very good feeling, because we get to see family we haven't seen in a while and we get to do whatever we want.
“I like to go out with cousins and go eat tacos with them at night en el pueblo,” said Diana Penilla (9).
My favorite part of Mexico is getting to go out with cousins and going to party's every night. I enjoy going out to dance and play games en el pueblo with friends and family. I love when family comes over for cook outs and family reunions. It makes the trip better in various ways. When it's time to leave Mexico, it gets very emotional because I never know when I will see my family again. It can be days, months or even years. It’s very fun to go and see family but every trip must come to an end. It’s nice to get to see family and get to be with them, but it’s never goodbye; it’s always see you soon.
