With the school year coming to a close, anticipation fills the air. The pinnacle of the high-school experience: Prom, is now in the books. Promposal signs were made, dance moves shown off, and memories created that will last a lifetime. Prom is the school event that every student looks forward to. Whether students went with a date or a group of friends, Prom night was assured to be one to remember.

The 2025 Prom theme was Mystical Forest. Put on by the class of 2026, elected officers, Gretchen Leach (11), Breigh Ragsdale (11), and Cody Salmon (11), worked to transform the Sleeping Lady Chapel into a place of elegance and enchantment. “It was really cool to be able to help plan the dance. We had a lot of help from Mr. Sunitch and parents who volunteered, and they really helped pull it together and make it special,” said Junior class treasurer Salmon.

Students dressed in fancy attire and got together to take pictures, go out to dinner, and hang out before the actual dance. “My favorite part of Prom was having a banquet with all of my friends, I had a great time, and we went to take pictures at the fish hatchery. This was my senior prom, and my friends made it one I will remember for the rest of my life,” said Benjamin Jerome (12).

The dance itself was the highlight of the night. With an amazing atmosphere all around, students danced the night away to Soulja Boy, ABBA, and Katy Perry. “We had some setbacks in not being able to have a DJ, but we worked hard to create a playlist that people would enjoy and approve of,” said Salmon.

Another aspect of the event is the social environment created. Students got a chance to mingle at the venue, seeing friends from running start, Discovery, and even other schools all brought together to have a good time with one another. The lobby of the chapel was set up with drinks, tables, and even a mystical forest themed photo-booth. “It was crazy to see people who you usually would see wearing jorts and t-shirts all dressed up. This was my first

Prom, and I had a great time,” said Milo Gibbs (9).

Prom 2025 was a perfect mic drop event at the end of the year.
