This year, the Cascade Choral Boosters led by director Isabella Garcia decided to put on three fun Karaoke Nights to fundraise for the choir program. They have held events on September 27th, October 25th, and November 27th, where people can make song requests by donation. Sodas were also available to buy for one dollar. Karaoke nights are open to everyone, and families of all ages are welcome and encouraged to attend. These nights are meant to be a fun, supportive place for people to belt out their favorite songs, whether it be Moana, Billy Joel, or anything in between.

The choir is supported by a group called the Cascade Choral Boosters. “The boosters are a parent teacher partnership that aims to expand students' exploration and participation in choral arts. The money raised supports solo, small group and chorus wide competitions, festivals, and exchanges,” said President Diana Runions. Fundraising is very important so that the high school choir can experience amazing opportunities, the greatest of which is an annual choir tour in the spring. Gretchen Leach (10), a Cascade Select Choir member attended the first karaoke night on September 27th and said, “The most fun part was getting to hang out with everyone who was there and us getting to sing together.”

The next karaoke nights will be in January, with specific dates still to be determined. The events will be from 6 to 8, and entry is free. Just come through the side choir door of Icicle River Middle School for a fun night out. Stay tuned for updates on the choir website that you can access through the high school or middle school websites. “Come support the Cascade Choral Boosters at our karaoke night. We have lots of fun singing along to all the movie and pop hits,” said Garcia.
