Leavenworth Pizza Company Review

Anja Lundgren

A perfect Bite, Jewel Leroy (10) and Elle Lundgren (8) pose for a picture with a margarita pizza at Leavenworth Pizza Company. The vibe in the restaurant was laid back and relaxed, but the pizza did not reflect that. The Margarita pizza was flavorful and beautifully cooked. Overall, the Leavenworth Pizza Company is the perfect place to go for a fun dinner with your family or a delicious after-school snack with your friends. Photo Credit: Anja Lundgren

The Leavenworth Pizza Company sits on the corner of US Highway 2 and Sherbourne Street. It has a good view of downtown and the Christmas lights. It also has a relaxed vibe. The staff are very friendly and acted as if they were family or a big group of friends. “The customer service is really nice, and the waiters were delightful and funny,” said Avery Houghton (10).

When we first walked in, we were greeted by a joyous server who promptly led us to a table. A small glass of water was brought out for each of us and menus were handed out. Every wall was filled with handmade paintings and murals that gave off a fun, unique vibe.

“[I] highly recommend, ten out of ten, I would go again,” said Leroy.

“The atmosphere is good, and it has a nice warm inviting environment,” said Houghton. The music was happy and full of energy. The menu was mostly pizza, as expected, but there was also a soup of the day, salads and appetizers. We were given plenty of time to read through the menu and discuss it with our table mates. We ordered a medium margarita pizza. Once we had our order taken, we were given time to sit back and enjoy the feeling of being in a busy household surrounded by happy people.

The scent of freshly made pizza wafted through the room every time someone else got their food and it made our mouths water. Everyone in the restaurant seemed relaxed, including the waiters and staff. It was the perfect environment to sit and talk or just hang out with family and friends.

Once the pizza came, we could smell each individual ingredient. The pizza had a thick golden crust and creamy mozzarella base. Red tomatoes peaked out from under the mozzarella and deep green basil rested gently on the cheese. Over the top was a drizzle of tangy balsamic sauce. “The balsamic sauce is an extreme mix of sweet and sour flavors blended into a whirlwind of deliciousness,” said Jewel Leroy (10).

When we pulled the pizza apart the cheese stretched, and we were left with a large slice of flavorful pizza. This pizza was not the typical greasy bland takeout pizza. “The flavor and textures were perfect,” said Leroy. When we bit into the gooey mozzarella and the thin, perfectly baked crust, we were met with a blast of complex flavors that fill our mouths.

After enjoying our delicious, filling meal, we got our check. Although the medium pizza is expensive for a high school student, it can feed three people and it is much higher quality than the average pizza. One Margarita pizza cost $35, but there are also cheaper items on the menu.

“[I] highly recommend, ten out of ten, I would go again,” said Leroy. Overall, eating at Leavenworth Pizza Company was a great experience. Although it was expensive the flavors and vibe made the cost worth it. The waiters were funny and inviting, the restaurant was clean and decorated with colorful pieces of art. Overall the Leavenworth pizza company is a fun and relaxed place to spend an evening.
