Cascade hits off the start of springs sports with a 16 - 3 win for the Kodiak baseball team against Waterville. Students, family, and friends showed up to support and cheer on the team to their victory on Tuesday, March 18th.

Starting off strong, the Kodiaks wasted no time getting on the scoreboard. With a combination of solid hitting and smart base running, they quickly racked up runs in the first few innings. The team showed excellent teamwork, good communication, and a positive attitude all around.

“First game for some of these kids and they came out here and crushed it,” said Trenton Holland (12).

This year’s team plans to keep up the teamwork and effort to continue having a great season.

The visiting team fought hard but couldn't catch up, as their offense struggled to get going against our pitcher. The pitcher, Teddy Everson (11), threw eight strikes, two walks and didn’t give up a single hit. Teddy was a team leader on both defense and offense.

In the end, the home team finished strong, ending the game with a 16 - 3 victory. The win was a great way to start the season, and the players are already looking forward to their next game. As they head into the next part of their spring season, the team is looking forward to building on their teamwork and keeping a positive attitude.

“Having more experience will allow us to play good, as long as we keep our heads up and stay playing as a team,” said Eli Sauer (11). This spring’s team is staying optimistic and looking forward to growth from last season.

It’s clear that the Cascade Kodiaks are ready for what’s to come this season. With solid pitching, good communication, and great play-making they are shaping up to be a fun team to watch this spring. Check out the Cascade High School website for details about their next home game.
