Basketball season at Cascade High School has been exciting so far, with competitive matchups and strong team growth across all levels.
Girls Varsity
The girls’ varsity basketball team has shown significant improvement throughout the season. Sydney Melody (10) reflected on the team’s progress: “What I am most proud of is that we played Waterville at the beginning of the season and lost by 25 and we played them again more recently and only lost by 5, I am so proud of how much we have grown just in the season.”
“The best part of the season is being able to play with my friends that I love. They are why I get through tough games and why winning is so fun," said Blayk Camp (10).
Team chemistry has also played a big role. “The best part of the season is being able to play with my friends that I love. They are why I get through tough games and why winning is so fun," said Blayk Camp (10).
The team earned notable wins against Manson, Eniat, Chelan, and Quincy. Ada Missal (11) described one standout performance: “I believe this game was so successful because we were very accurate on our distribution of the ball along with our timing while activating our plays. These factors helped us gain a 66-point lead into the fourth quarter.”
Overall, the girls’ varsity team has built a strong record, with teamwork and preseason preparation contributing to their success.
Girls JV
The girls’ JV team has also had an impressive season, holding a 10–2 record with only two losses.
They opened the season with a 45–14 win over Wenatchee High School on December 2, 2025. Another major victory came on January 27, 2026, when they defeated Bridgeport 57–6.

Boys Varsity
The boys’ varsity team has earned several key wins this season. They opened with a 57–45 victory over Thorpe on December 2, 2025, and later defeated Waterville 50–33 on December 6.
Players say both individual improvement and team bonding have shaped their season. Kyler Wilder (9) shared, “I think I have improved on shooting and dribbling and seeing the court better.”
“The most impactful part of playing basketball for me is the team bonding outside of practice and games. That's been the most fun for me this season!”
For Max Speigel (12), the relationships built off the court stand out most: “The most impactful part of playing basketball for me is the team bonding outside of practice and games. That's been the most fun for me this season!”
Julian Feeney (11) highlighted a recent team performance: “The best part of the season so far has been our win last Friday, a lot of players improved over the season, and it really came out in that game.”
Boys JV and C-Team
The boys’ JV team currently holds a 5–7 record. Their biggest win came against Eniat on December 15, 2025, with a final score of 43–25. They also earned a 62–44 victory over Bridgeport on January 27, 2026.
“The best team bonding experience has just been connected through like team dinners and film sessions, and our coaches have made everything very team oriented and everyone lifts each other up.”, said Caleb Bozorth (10)
Strong participation numbers also allowed Cascade to field a boys’ C-team this season. The C-team earned a 36–28 win over Omak High School on December 10.
Across all levels, Cascade basketball teams have worked together to make this a memorable and successful season.
The final home game of the season is Thursday, January 5. JV teams play at 4:15 p.m., the girls’ varsity team tips off at 5:45 p.m., and the boys’ varsity team follows at 7:15 p.m. The results of these games will help determine postseason play. Fans are encouraged to come out and support the teams.
