This year there are 13 players on the CHS boys baseball team. Juniors include Blake Kukowski, Juan Alvarado, and Jaxon Coble. Sophomores participating are Olyn Schultz, Cole Ennis, and Trenton Holland. Newest to the team are freshmen Micah Dirkse, Jorgen Palmer, Thedore Everson, and Connor Schoenwald. Coaching the team this year is Bret Isadone and assisting is Todd Gilbert.

The boys had inside practices since their first day of practice March 25th 2023. The boys only had the chance to practice outside once before their first game against Liberty Bell. The snow was one of the toughest challenges the boys had to face.

The coaches worked with the varsity team to improve skills and get ready for baseball games. Trenton said he looks up to the coaches for “putting their time in, when they could easily just be doing other stuff, and just they’re there for us more than themselves.”

Trenton Holland is looking forward as a team to “win more than one game and looking forward to just being close as a team and getting to know the younger players.” Connor Schoenwald is looking forward to this season so that he can ”gain in more experience, work on [his] foot work on first base and work [his] foot work on the mound.”

Their game against Liberty Bell was a score of 15-3 with Liberty Bell taking the win. Most of the boys were upset they lost their first game, but they are all hoping to win some games this year.

The boy's game on March 28th 2023 vs. Chelan was a tough game. Cole Ennis explains it as bad. “We are an inexperienced team and we were vs. the very best team, we got stomped,” Ennis said. “There was nothing we could've done.”
