Aiden Tuttle, a senior at Cascade High School, has been a stand-out student both academically and athletically. He loves to spend his time listening to music, making art, playing sports, and hanging out with friends. He is known generally for his funny, optimistic, and open personality.
One of Aiden’s biggest passions is his athletics. Aiden has been a key part of every team he has played for in his high school career. He was a number one runner for the boys’ varsity cross-country team, a varsity basketball player, and an indispensable member of the track team. Although Aiden certainly is a valued member of all these sports, his favorite is volleyball.
“I started playing volleyball when I was in 5th grade before I moved to Leavenworth, and when I moved, I had to stop playing because there was no opportunity for me to play, but last year I was able to help start a club volleyball team,” explained Aiden. After getting back into volleyball Aiden helped as an assistant coach for the girls’ team this fall and played on the boys’ club team that he helped to start.
“Aiden has an incredible amount of natural talent, but his enthusiasm is what makes him super fun to coach and have on the team. He is always wanting to try new things and put himself out there,” said track coach Bill Davies.
Besides being an inspiring athlete, Aiden is involved with the ASB and is a photographer for many of the school events. “I have been an ASB representative every year, mostly just because of the doughnuts, but I also like putting my ideas out there and having a say in what we do,” said Tuttle. Aiden said that “photographing for the school has helped me to develop my photography skills.”
“Aiden is very personable and is dedicated to his creative outlet and is not afraid to try new things,” said CHS Art teacher Ms. Dillon. "He is very open to criticism, super easy to teach, and he is open to help other people.” Following his passion for photography Aiden has volunteered at school dances, sports games, and other events, growing his photography skills as he does.
After high school Aiden plans to continue his education at Western Washington University pursuing his photography career and someday hopefully becoming a freelance photographer.
Aiden’s inspiring involvement at Cascade will leave a legacy for others to follow. He will most definitely be missed by many when he graduates.
