Every other day, for the past four years, Jose has taken part in this program in Mrs. Renner-Singer's class. Mrs. Renner-Singer has enjoyed having Jose in her classroom every year, and stated that, “A lot of students respect him, everyone listens when he talks, and everyone likes to work with him. Jose is reliable, responsible, and an all-around a nice person.”
Two of Jose’s closest friends are Toni Garcia and Manuel Camarena. Jose has enjoyed spending his time with them while playing soccer and while working at Smallwood's with Toni. “Jose’s work ethic has always impressed me, his ability to help me and not get frustrated has always been appreciated. Jose truly is a role model,” said Manuel. Jose hasn’t only helped Manuel, but also his friend Toni. “Jose has impacted my life by helping me pass all of the classes we have had together. He also kept me motivated on school and sports,” Toni explained. “Jose is a kind hearted and loyal man, he is always there when I need him. Jose is also an overachieving, hardworking, and highly motivated person that is always ready for a challenge,” Toni added.
Jose’s fourth period class is EWU English 170 with Ms. Rosenfield. During the class, Jose has the opportunity to sit near and work with some of his closest friends. Ms. Rosenfield’s one word to describe Jose is, “Courteous”. She explained that, “I love that Jose is always willing to improve and try harder. He does an excellent job with team working.”
“Right now I'm spending my free time after school hanging out with my friends. But I'm looking forward to playing soccer for my senior season in the springtime,” Jose explained. After high school, Jose plans on attending Wenatchee Valley College, and is hoping to get his bachelor's degree in technology.
