Carmel Apple Butter Chai, Mexican Mocha, Honey Lavender Latte and Madagascar Vanilla Latte. These are just four of fifteen delicious specialty drinks along with many different varieties of coffee and treats served at Little Reds Coffee Shop and bakery in Leavenworth Washington. Little Reds has a welcoming staff who strive to create a great customer experience, it is constantly growing and improving and has an intriguing business model that has helps them rival the coffee giants.

One of the reasons that Little Reds is so appreciated in the Leavenworth Community is its excellent customer service.

“Red’s always makes you feel welcome and important. Whether you’re coming for a coffee or a sandwich you get fast and friendly customer service that creates a positive atmosphere that you want to come back to,”said Samantha Jerome, coffee lover and nurse at Cascade High School.

“Red’s always makes you feel welcome and important. Whether you’re coming for a coffee or a sandwich you get fast and friendly customer service that creates a positive atmosphere that you want to come back to,” said Samantha Jerome, coffee lover and nurse at Cascade High School. Customer Service is very important to create a returning customer and is one of the focal points of Little Reds.

“I'm usually a coffee person, but I really love their Green Goddess Smoothie,” said Maddy Black (12). Little Reds is different than any other shop, because “her trailer is iconic and on all of her merch and the sayings [Aubrey] puts on her cups make you laugh and motivate you for the day.”

Little Reds is constantly growing and expanding. The first Littles Reds was created in 2014 in Lake Wenatchee but for owner Aubrey Dickinson that wasn’t enough. After running one location as a sole proprietor, she expanded by opening two locations: one in Wenatchee outside Pybus Market by the beautiful Columbia River and another on way up to Bluett Pass. As an opportunity presented itself to have a storefront in Leavenworth, she closed down the Blewett location and set up near Gustavs at the start of the downtown strip. Currently, Aubrey is expanding her Leavenworth Location and moving into the space directly behind the current shop.

“We will now be able to add all the food that we had at the Peshastin and Pybus locations, this will definitely expand our opportunities and will hopefully encourage more locals to come in,” said Aubrey.

The best quality of Little Reds (besides their coffee, mouthwatering sandwiches and baked goods) is their business model. When a customer walks into Little Reds they are made to feel refreshed as the business model is unlike any other generic coffee shop. Reds handwrites humorous quotes on each of their cups, offers quirky merchandise and includes fun décor, including the infamous Little Red truck.

“I learned a long time ago when I first started, I was very hesitant about the quotes on the cups and the branding itself and I realized that I won’t be for everyone, but the people that I’m for hopefully I bring them happiness and humor. I’m just trying to drop a little bit of sunshine in someone’s day,” said owner Audrey Dickinson.

High school students wanting to visit Little Reds will enjoy creative drinks like an apple butter chai that can be ordered with oat milk or well as a Mexican mocha which incorporates bits of cinnamon and cayenne with dark chocolate.

The price point, $4-5 for specialty drinks and $1-2 for drip coffee, will also appeal to a high school audience.
