Chloe Palmer-Godsey is a senior at Cascade High School, an accomplished student and athlete, and a great friend to all. She grew up here in the valley and attended the Cascade School District all her life. Her outgoing personality and hardworking spirit has left its mark on Cascade.
Chloe has been committed to both soccer and tennis throughout her high school years. She started playing soccer when she was old enough to kick a ball, since then she has stuck with it and most recently been an amazing leader for her high school team. Every year that Chloe has played soccer, the team has been a serious contender for state and in 2020 the CHS high school team, including Chloe, attended state. Teammate, Madi Gillespie, who has been alongside Chole throughout the majority of her soccer career said, “Playing soccer with Chloe is always fun and she is a super positive person, not to mention one of the hardest workers. We’ve played together since we were little, I have so many great memories with her from all our years of playing on the same teams and participating in camps.” Chloe has put a lot of time and dedication into soccer and has inspired many with her hardworking spirit.
Chloe has found a passion for tennis more recently and has been an active member of this sport since her freshman year. Her perseverance and commitment have paid off and Chloe has been noticed, not only by her coach, but teammates as well. Mr. Hassenger, who has been the tennis coach for the entirety of Chloe’s high school years said, “Chloe is a wonderful young lady. She is kind and considerate. She comes to practice almost every day and has played for 4 years. She is our team captain this year and doing a great job. We are very proud of her.” Even though Chloe’s senior season is coming to an end, she plans to keep playing tennis as a lifelong hobby.
Chloe is not only successful on the court and field, but in the classroom as well. “Chloe has been an active part of the Publications team for three years. She has helped to lead the team to national success with both the yearbook and newspaper. Chloe is incredibly talented and personable, which has made her a great leader,” said Ms. Robison, Chloe’s Publications teacher.
“To a stranger, I would describe Chloe as one of the brightest lights in any room. You recognize her direct eye contact, her easy smile, and her ability to both listen and talk as a source of illumination when you need to be able to see things more clearly. She's also got great strawberry blonde hair,” explained Mrs. Brixey, Chloe’s former English teacher.
Aside from sports and school, Chloe has many other hobbies she participates in. Some of these include working, hanging out with friends and being involved with her community. Chole currently works at Whistlepunk, an ice cream shop in Leavenworth. “My favorite part of working at Whistlepunk is the fun environment and being able to work alongside many of my close friends,” she said. She is a leader in her work environment and is very well liked by her co-workers. Ava Northrup, who she works with, said, “She is always kind and welcoming to every customer and I'm so lucky to work with her not only as a co-worker, but good friend as well.” Chloe has been a positive light in her community and is well known as a kind and loving person.
After graduation, Chloe plans to attend Western Washington University. There, she will study psychology and later she hopes to become a therapist. She has impacted so many people here at Cascade and will continue to be a kind and positive light whenever she ends up.
