Caden Peterson (12)  brings a grounding energy everywhere he goes. His determined mindset drives him to succeed in his everyday life. This shows whether he is taking extra time of out his day to perfect his tennis skills or bringing a calm and kind energy to his school. Caden's dedication to Cascade High School goes above and beyond the expectations of his educators and advisors. As senior class treasurer, he works hard to get his work done to benefit the school. In addition to this, he is extremely respectful and kind to his peers and the ASB team.

“He focuses on helping others as well. Once he finishes his tasks, he wants to help other people, and I really appreciate that [aspect of] having him as a team member,” described senior class president Cruz Martinez (12).

Even with the chaos of the school year and his many responsibilities including ASB, TSA, and the upcoming tennis season, he manages to put a smile on peoples’ faces, simply by being an authentic person.

“He’s overall just a funny person. He makes our team laugh all the time. It’s really nice,” Martinez explained.

He is also the Technology Student Association (TSA) vice president. He has been in TSA since freshman year and strives to make it far in his events. Caden loves the CHS TSA team and encourages students to join. He helps with running the meetings every Friday during flex.

“He also is really good at bringing people together and making sure everyone has a voice. He’s good collaborating with other people. He gets along with people well and has a good sense of teamwork,” explained Ms. Dillon, the TSA advisor, about his contributions to TSA.

Caden excels and focuses on preparing for his TSA events of flight endurance, transportation modeling, and tech bowl.

“He’s organized; he’s detail oriented, willing to work with others but can also work alone. He has a lot of diverse knowledge for the Knowledge bowl or tech bowl. He has a lot of knowledge in different areas,” Dillon stated.

Caden does a great job of being a leader and a listener. He achieves this in a way that makes students feel heard and respected.

“He is a good listener, he is kind to everyone, he is willing to work with people and is calm. He brings a calmness to the group where other people might bring energy. You also need a person who can balance that and can make sure that everyone is ok and feeling safe in the environment," Dillon remarks.

Another one of Caden passions is tennis. He works hard to improve his skill by taking private lessons and working outside the season to improve. He has strong goals and an ambitious mindset to achieve them.

“The first year I was barely on varsity, last year I went to state, and this year I will hopefully be district champion for doubles,” Caden shared.

Caden has worked so hard to complete all the advanced math classes that are offered at Cascade High School and even took Calculus III at UW the previous Summer, and he still stands with a 4.0 GPA. Even with his great success, he remains a humble person. He approaches his achievements with remarkable grace and humility. Caden’s hard work earned him a spot at Columbia University where he is ecstatic to pursue a career in electrical engineering.

There’s no doubt that Caden’s determination plays a huge role in his accomplishments. He clearly makes a positive impact at Cascade High School through the ways he interacts with school staff and fellow students and is sure to make a big impact at Columbia. He’s shown all of us that success isn’t just about talent—it’s about character, passion, humility, and devotion.
