Captain of the football team, track star, Texas-man, Mr. Positive, senior Peyton Adams. Peyton Adams came to Cascade High School his freshman year and moved back and forth to Texas when he was 16 and 17. When he came back to CHS, right after Texas track season, Peyton joined the CHS track team where he went to state later that year. Peyton is most well-known for his positive attitude, friendly personality and contagious smile. “He’s a one-of-a-kind, kind of dude,” said Ezra Week (10).
Peyton plays as safety on defense and slot receiver on the offense for the Kodiaks football team. “Peyton’s got a unique background, he’s seen a lot of life and I think that changed the way he thinks and sees the world,” said CHS alumni and head coach of the football team, Mr. Haberberger (Coach Hab). He is a major part of the team's ability to score and tackle on all parts of the field. He spent half his high school career in Texas where he played football as well. He has brought over many football skills from his Texas team and applied them on the Cascade field.
“When he got here, he was like an older brother, and he’s shown me how to do a lot,” said William Biebesheimer (11).
Not only does Peyton apply skills on the field, but he also applies his leadership skills on the side lines by helping his younger teammates, starting huddles, talking to coaches, as well as helping other seniors improve, and he is there for his teammates to look up to. “When he got here, he was like an older brother, and he’s shown me how to do a lot,” said William Biebesheimer (11). “He’s an interesting character, he has a lot of energy.”
Like a great football player, Peyton is also a good friend, quality academic student, and a loving boyfriend. Peyton Adams is all these things and more because of the hardship he went through while living in Texas. “When he lived in Texas, he kinda had to raise himself, for the most part, but I think that him raising himself really built his character,” said Macie Hiatt (11). Peyton’s life in Texas was full of ups and downs but, that’s what made him the genuine, strong person he is today. “I feel like its ultimately changed who I am, from a scared boy to a wise man,” said Peyton.
As Peyton’s high school season slowly ends, with track season on the way and only a handful of months until graduation, Peyton plans to finish high school on a good note. He has been a significant, genuine, and kind person that all grades from freshman to seniors will remember and look up to.
