Student in the Spotlight: Ada Robbins

Ada Robbins is an active senior at Cascade High School. She has been here in Leavenworth and at the school for many years. She has played and been involved with sports, including soccer and golf. Ada is also an involved staffer on the CHS Publications team and a valuable member to the Leadership class. She stays involved at school and other activities in her life.

During the fall, Ada played forward on the soccer team at CHS. Cassidy Gillespe (11) fellow varsity soccer player would describe her as a “very talented player. She is very encouraging, and I could always trust her on the field. Her fun energy makes it more enjoyable to be there and practices are far more fun. I also appreciated her braiding my hair.” Ada’s energetic and optimistic attitude has helped her in all that she does.

Over the years, Ada has been involved with leadership, helping with a lot of school activities and events. She is gifted with creative abilities and getting things done. Ms. Rieke, a teacher Ada works closely with expressed that “Ada is very down to earth and artistic, she will do great things and has a bright future.” Ada has put these valuable attributes into the work she does with leadership. During leadership, she recently took charge of decorating the staff room for teacher appreciation week. A lot of preparation and planning went into gathering and ordering supplies. She did a great job of delegating and executing the project which resulted in turning the staff room from an institutional feeling space into a far more aesthetically pleasing room.

Described by many of her friends and teachers as “nice, easy to talk to, and an energetic character.” These character traits have made her a valuable addition to the high school’s yearbook staff. Staffers photograph events and activities throughout the year, compiling them into the yearbook creating a fun student created yearbook. She has put her creative skills to work by designing yearbook spreads and photographing students. She has also shared her thoughts in the Kodiak chronicle, contributing many great articles.

Ada’s great example to the underclassman of optimism, kindness and creativity.
