Student in the Spotlight: Angela Gunter

Angela Gunter (12) always brings smiles to the faces of people around her. There are many ways Angela Gunter has positively impacted Cascade High School, the lives of her friends and teachers. Angela Gunter is the senior ASB vice president, secretary of Interact club and in Sports Medicine club. Not only has Angela impacted the clubs she participates in, but she has also positively contributed in the classroom.

“How much she cares like anytime you’re injured she’ll check up on you. I remember one time I fell, and she checked up on me, she did a whole nurse analysis,” explained Angela’s best friend Natalie Sanchez (12).

“Angela is a good student in a lot of ways, Angela really takes initiative in her learning, she finds opportunities and thinks ahead on what she wants to do and why school is important to her,” said Sports Medicine and health teacher Jon Betz.

Angela’s drive to learn, positive attitude, and genuine personality are the reasons many people smile in and outside of the classroom when they think of her. Angela is an amazing friend and teammate and has impacted the lives of the people around her. Angela plays varsity soccer and basketball and is good at playing and making connections with her teammates. One of Angela’s biggest personality traits is her ability to care and show empathy.

“How much she cares like anytime you’re injured she’ll check up on you. I remember one time I fell, and she checked up on me, she did a whole nurse analysis,” explained Angela’s best friend Natalie Sanchez (12). Some of Angela’s fellow seniors have known each other for a long time and have made many memories together even before high school. “She has impacted my life with us growing up together playing soccer and basketball together. She’s been a part of my life for a while,” said Rayen Blue (12).

Angela isn’t only involved in sports, she is also the secretary for Interact Club, a member of Sports Medicine club, and the senior ASB vice president. “I think Angela has impacted CHS by being a good leader, she’s constantly responsible for her learning and others around her,” stated Mr. Betz. Due to Angela being involved in so many clubs, sports and extra activities, she has impacted CHS as a school and the people who attend CHS by sharing ideas, planning fundraisers and going to competitions. It is easy to see that Angela thrives both academically and athletically.

Angela has big plans after high school. Angela has high hopes of fulfilling her medical dreams. There is not a specific school that she wants to go to yet, but she wants it to be a four-year college. “I plan to go to a four-year college and go into a nursing program, working in the medical field,” stated Angela Gunter.  CHS students and staff are very excited to see Angela succeed after high school. Everyone at CHS is proud of what Angela has achieved up to this point.

When Angela leaves for college she will continue to impact the lives of her peers and professors. Building new relationships in college won’t be a problem with Angela. “She is unique because she can make friends with literally anyone and get along with anyone,” said Rayen Blue. The connections Angela has made throughout her time at CHS will not be forgotten.
