Senior Coco Zehm is an outstanding and contributing member of the CHS community. She is a star softball player and enjoys the company of her friends and family. In addition, Zehm loves anything to do with construction and weightlifting and is charismatic, energetic, and an excellent student.

Coco’s biggest impact at CHS is her performance on the softball field. With three years under her belt, Zehm is looking forward to her final and fourth year as a Kodiak softball player. She is enthusiastic and supportive of her teammates which helps her lead the team to regular victories, Softball coach, Mr. Fraker talked about having Coco on the team: “She had a good season last year. She filled in at first base, improved as the season progressed. She is a very dependable player. [Zhem] brings positivity and uplifts all her teammates makes everyone feel great and works as hard as she can work.” Her teammates also enjoyed having her. Lindsee Rodriguez said, “She’s energetic on the field and is a good catcher. I admire that she performs well under certain circumstances.”

In addition to being a standout athlete on the softball team, Coco has had a positive impact through her friendships and the energy that she brings to daily life. Coco enjoys being “outside - that`s why I love the summer; I get to be outside all the time.” Coco is known for having a sweet and charismatic energy. “Coco is super positive; she jokes around a lot. She brightens every room she's in and is always telling jokes," said friend Kaston Dillion. Coco makes efforts to always be there for all her friends and keep a positive attitude. “She's a good friend, she cares about you, and she's funny,” said sophomore and friend Maralyz Fonseca.

Apart from friendships and sports, Zhem also has an impact on the community. She works at Schocolat, a chocolatier in downtown Leavenworth. Coco enjoys her job. “It's fun, I love seeing the community, and talking to lots of different people that come in,” said Zehm. She has been working at Schocolat for a little over a year now.

Beyond being a star athlete and great friend, Coco shows her impact at Cascade through the positivity she brings. Child Development teacher, Mr. Haberberger, described Zehm as “a top-notch student. She produces great quality work. Coco`s a natural leader, outgoing, and a hard worker.” Coco knows how to adjust to any curriculum she is studying. Coco finds it important to have balance during school: “I try to keep my balance of [being] social and [a] hard worker during school.” She also is part of the CHS Sustainability Club.

After high school, Coco plans to attend college. She has not quite figured out which one to attend but she has her top five in mind.

By being a positive person, hard worker, and standout athlete, Coco is sure to go far and reach all the goals she has in mind. Wherever Coco goes in the future, she will be sorely missed at CHS.
