Senior, athlete, and homecoming queen: Giselle Navarro, is a confident and hard-working member of Cascade High School. She has built positive relationships with both adults and students and is always outgoing.

Giselle is very involved at Cascade High School. She loves showing school spirit at games, homecoming, spirit week, etc. Giselle is a student leader – involved with Leadership, 30min2winIt, Interact Club and ASB.“She´s really into her school and portraying different aspects of the school, but also having pride in being a Kodiak and always looking for ways to represent what it means to be a Kodiak,” stated Mr. Joya.

“Giselle does a little bit of everything and somehow manages to do it all well,” explained her Leadership teacher Ms. Robison. “She is an excellent student, a stellar athlete, and a dependable leader. Giselle has a good heart and truly cares about improving the lives of her peers by making CHS the best that it can be.”

Gieselle is perhaps best known for her athleticism. Her favorite thing about sports it that they have helped her to meet a lot of people and make a bunch of new friends. She is a very important and talented player on both the volleyball and softball teams. Navarro’s influence goes beyond the points that she scores: she inspires a lot of her teammates to play like her. “I like her confidence, her cockiness and swagger and her cobra like reflexes,” said head softball coach Mr. Fraker.

Giselle is a very competitive player, somebody who wants to win, and is willing to give her all to make that happen. However, even if her team loses a game, she can forget about it and just go on to the next, which is a hard thing to do as an athlete.

“’G’ is very confident whenever she speaks, whenever she just goes out and plays. She´s very confident about what she does,” said Giselle´s assistant softball coach and Personal Finance teacher Mr. Sunitsch.

“She has so much fire when she plays volleyball and it inspires me to play like her,” explained teammate Emma Sunitsch.

Even though sports are a big part of Giselle´s life, she still manages to get good grades and be a good student. She credits her organization and prioritization of school as the secret to her success. Giselle is very efficient with time: she uses her flex and lunch time to catch up on her assignments or ask teachers for help if needed. “She works hard, she asks good questions, she hands in her assignments mainly on time; she´s doing really well. She seems to be engaged in class,” said Mr. Sunitsch.

Despite her incredibly busy schedule as a leader, student and athlete, Navarro is consistently there for the people who are closest to her, making them laugh and lending a helping hand. Her friends describe her as spontaneous, goofy, positive, and just a nice person to be around. “She can always make me laugh. So, whenever I need someone to encourage me, I go to her because she cheers me up so much,” explained her good friend Emma Sunitsch.

“It's always an adventure when hanging out with her,” said Vanessa West.

After high school Giselle is planning to go to a four-year college to become a social worker. There is no doubt that the academic, social and leadership skills that she has developed while at Cascade will serve her well in this role.
