Senior Molly Wiser is described as a “passionate, intelligent, kind, and driven person” by her fellow classmates. Her hard work has helped her to become a respected student leader, an astute scholar and an exceptional student athlete.
Molly is the captain of the basketball team. Mr. Lewman, Molly’s basketball coach, described Molly as an “exemplary leader on and off the court.” He went on to say that “she is passionate about basketball and showing others what having passion can do to elevate what you are capable of.” Emma Warman, one of her teammates, said, “Molly is very sweet hearted and one thing I love about her is that she’s very aggressive on the court and field and is willing to help and is very patient.” Her hard work and dedication have served as an example to classmates on the court. Mr. Lewman also said, “As a teammate, Molly is the one that you can rely on. She is the first to show up and the last to leave. You will always get everything that she has every day. She leads by example. It is tremendously important to her to show her teammates that she holds herself accountable to the same or higher standards than that of her teammates. She is the first to reach out and lend a helping hand. Her leadership and dedication to the program allows us to have stability in these awkward times.” Molly’s service as captain is deeply appreciated by teammates and coaches alike.
Molly not only excels on the basketball court, she is a standout student as well. Ms. Guzman, Molly’s Spanish teachers, said, “Molly is a stellar student. Not only does she score well on her assessments, she is self-motivated and a hard worker. She strives to do her best and is constantly pushing herself to do better. She loves learning and is committed to absorbing all the information she is exposed to. She is a strong leader in class and has challenged me to be a better teacher over the last three years!” Molly is appreciated by all of her teachers and coaches, because she is responsible, punctual, and inspiring.
Molly is currently the ASB President and has worked closely with Mr. Joya in a variety of student leadership positions. Mr. Joya said, “Molly is a student that defines ‘go-getter.’ She is always on a mission. She truly cares about learning and is very competitive. When I need someone to get something done or compete for something, I know I can go to Molly. On top of her studious ways and competitive personality, she always can make you laugh also.”
In her spare time, Molly likes to ski, hike, and go on drives with friends in the winter. She said, "During the summer I mountain bike and really like wakeboarding and surfing. I also love watching the Great British Bake Off and going on walks with friends.” Molly also has a job, she said, "I work four days a week at Schocolat and coach a little kids soccer team.”
As for college, Molly has a few ideas in mind. Along with basketball, Molly is exceptionally good at soccer, so she is hoping to receive offers for the sports. She said, “It depends on Covid but I applied to university in Sweden, so I might end up attending overseas. I also have a few offers to play soccer as well so I'm just waiting to see what the best option financially looks like.” It is without doubt that wherever Molly goes, she will continue to elevate the game of those around her.
