Star football player William Biebesheimer aka Will (12) played his last season on the high school field this year, as he is off to graduate in June. His love for football started in second grade, when “a whole bunch of my friends and I would play football at recess, and we realized we could play football and tackle people, and we decided to all join as a big group. And to this day four out of the ten of us [who] started together and finished together,” explained Will.
Over the course of four years, he played high school ball and he carried the team with leadership for two years as captain. With his hard work, dedication, commitment, skill and leadership, he was able to play multiple positions and was always on the field. Offensively, he started off playing wide receiver, but for his last year his coach, Mr. Haberberger, switched his position to quarterback.
“At first I hated the position changes, but as the season went on, I felt like I got better and better, and I felt like I finished pretty good,” stated Will. Will and his teammates made all the senior’s final year count by winning more games this season than Cascade has in recent history.
Although his high school football season is over, it’s not the last time we will see William on the field. He plans on attending college after high school and continuing to play football.
“I hope and or plan to attend University of Houston, Eastern Washington, Colorado State, or Idaho State to continue playing football,” explained Will.
His coach Mr. Hab has very high hopes for Will for the future. “Will is very talented, he has a great arm and is very accurate on the run. Physically I think he can be a college football quarter back, considering he’s only had one year at this position in high school, so if he really got to work on it I know he could do it,” said Haberberger. Even though football is Will’s main sport, he also plays basketball and track to keep his athleticism going.
Will has had help, support and love from his friends, coaches, family and girlfriend that has helped him get to where he is today. Will’s best friends are Ezra Week (11), Landon Curnutt (12), Ethan Davis (12) and his girlfriend Addie Driscol (11). With these relationships and friendships, Will has made many different memories, inside and outside of school.
“We became friends my freshman year and his sophomore year we went to football camp at Eastern, it was me, him, Curnutt and two other dudes, we all got concussions and had to stay in a dark room together it was a lot of bonding,” explained Week.
“He works harder than most. A lot of people I know don’t have that kind of drive, and its cool to see,” said Curnutt.
Will is a unique person in so many ways. “He works harder than most. A lot of people I know don’t have that kind of drive, and its cool to see,” said Curnutt. With all of Will’s drive and hard work it has paid off, and everyone around him can see that.
Even though Will has multiple friends that he is bonded to, he has also made a bond with Addie Driscol (11) his girlfriend. “Closer to the beginning of the year one of my friends Maizy Groff (12), asked me if I wanted to go to homecoming with Will, because she wanted me to go in her group for the dance. Then we hung out and started talking a lot, then he asked me to the dance and then a few weeks after the dance he asked me to be his girlfriend,” said Driscol. This love story started with one dance and there aresany more dances they will attend together.
With Will getting closer and closer to walking the stage at graduation, Cascade will be losing a star athlete, an amazing student, a supportive and loving friend and so much more. His absence will be felt in the CHS hallways, in class and especially on the field, but he will never be forgotten. Even though Will is planning to move on to college, he has strongly impacted Cascade and everyone around him. Now that it's almost time for him to hang up his high school cleats, Will’s main supporters get to watch him walk on to the college field and start a new chapter.
